GFWC-AZ Southeastern District Spring meeting was held Friday and Saturday, March 23 & 24, 2012 in Pinetop, Arizona. The Board meeting was held at Linda Croteau’s home on Friday evening. The general meeting was held Saturday at the Pinetop Country Club. There were two GFWC-AZ officers, two past District Presidents and one past GFWC-AZ President, six Southeastern District officers, three SED Department Chairman, two Club Presidents, fourteen delegates, 1 member and 1 guest. Total eligible to vote was 25, attending 29.

On January 28th, the White Mountain SAFE House held their 13th Annual Robert Burns Dinner & Auction presented by Summit Healthcare. The event not only helps raise funds for the local domestic violence shelter, but is also a birthday celebration for the National Bard of Scotland who is most famous for writing the popular New Year’s song, Auld Lang Syne. The evening boasted haggis, whiskey, traditional music, Celtic dance, a dazzling dessert auction and a whole lot of fun.

To tell you truthfully, running the Show Low Main Street Farmers’ Market & Art Walk has been keeping me so busy lately that I don’t always get about town to as many local events as I’d like, but the ones I did manage to make were a blast. The weekend of June 5th and 6th was like most every White Mountain Summer weekend, cool, beautiful and loaded with things to do. Beginning on Friday the 4th, Show Low Days kicked off with an arts and crafts festival, the Still Cruisin’ Car Show and a new business expo.
At the Show Low Airport, the Annual Experimental Association Chapter 586 Fly-In Pancake Breakfast was held Saturday morning on the 5th. Free Young Eagle Flights were offered as well as a tasty pancake breakfast served up by Frontier Communications. …
