To tell you truthfully, running the Show Low Main Street Farmers’ Market & Art Walk has been keeping me so busy lately that I don’t always get about town to as many local events as I’d like, but the ones I did manage to make were a blast. I was able to catch a brief part of the Mountain Motorcycle Association of Arizona’s 3rd annual “Rally in the Cool Pines”, held at the Cabin in Overgaard. The weekend of June 5th and 6th was like most every White Mountain Summer weekend, cool, beautiful and loaded with things to do. Beginning on Friday the 4th, Show Low Days kicked off with an arts and crafts festival, the Still Cruisin’ Car Show and a new business expo.

At the Show Low Airport, the Annual Experimental Association Chapter 586 Fly-In Pancake Breakfast was held Saturday morning on the 5th. Free Young Eagle Flights were offered as well as a tasty pancake breakfast served up by Frontier Communications. …

by Ashly Wintersmith, junior reporter, age 11
As many of you regular Kidsview readers know, a few months ago (November, to be exact), I wrote an article on art and how a lot of kids don’t appreciate it. Now, since the Show Low Main Street Farmers’ Market & Art Walk (put on by my mom, in case you didn’t know) is coming up (opening day is May 15th—mark your calendars!), this month I’m going to focus on art’s frequent comrade: crafts.
When most people think of …

Just when you think you have seen everything possible on our Mountain, along comes something new and exciting that validates the fact that people are still living their passion and following their dreams, regardless of the economy. One such entrepreneur is Randy Patterson, the owner of the all new Madera Galleries and Wildlife Museum in Lakeside. Madera Galleries has a gift shop, an art gallery, an incredible Wildlife Museum with over 400 mounts, a custom cabinet shop and more. The Wildlife Museum alone is a site to behold, and a …

Another busy month has flown by and spring is officially here. To celebrate the turning of the seasons, I took part in the Open Spaces Yoga Center’s Spring Equinox Health Festival. Featuring several different types of yoga—including some really fun-looking yoga for kids—and other healing modalities, it was a mindful way to mark the changing year. I missed the sun salutations and early tea and refreshments, but set up my table with some of my handcrafted jewelry to take part at about 10:30am. Originally, local …
