Valerie Toliver, watercolor artist and art teacher, will be showing her work at the Artists of the Rim Gallery in Payson during September as guest artist. Growing up in an artistic family Valerie’s father, Edward Toliver, was a prominent photographer for Salt River Project before he retired, and had his black and white photos in Arizona Highways magazines during the 1960s. Over the years, the Northeastern Arizona Fine Arts Association (NEAFAA) Scholarship Fund has provided over $23,000 in scholarship monies to local high school and community college students interested in pursuing art or a career in art education. The awards can be in the form of a scholarship, or as a contribution to local teachers to provide funds for art projects. NEAFAA also reserves monies for purchase awards for the purpose of purchasing outstanding student art.

The Northeastern Arizona Fine Arts Association, (NEAFAA) will offer the three-day watercolor workshop, ‘Paint, Puddle and Pour’ with well-known watercolor artist Paula Artac July 30 and 31, 2010 and August 1, 2010, 9 am to 4 pm. The location TBA. The price will be $185 for NEAFAA members and $200 for non-members. Sarah Reay McAnerny will be guest artist during August at the Artists of the Rim Gallery in Payson. Her work will be shown along with that of the 13 partners work including oil and watercolor paintings, scratchboard, jewelry, fused and stained glass and photography. Sarah’s representational art, in watercolor and on tile, focuses on the landscapes, flora, and peoples of her western heritage.
